ABSTRACT

This chapter explains how the airline provides volunteer and trained staff called Special Assistance Teams (SAT) to deploy to support families and survivors at the Humanitarian Assistance Centre (HAC) and even the airport if required. The chapter details how to recruit and train them and the issues and challenges that can arise from having a trained team that may have to witness traumatic situations. The chapter goes on to explain where they work and what they do for the airline at the HAC, supporting survivors and families of the deceased.
