ABSTRACT

This chapter provides ideas for developing the growth mindset principles of perseverance and resiliency, two of the most important psychosocial skills that can lead to success. Information is presented that discusses why mistakes and failure are important since we can learn the most from them. When children purposefully reflect on mistakes and errors, they can learn to approach the unsuccessful task in a new way. Working toward building a home environment where mistakes and failure are accepted, and our children can reflect and redirect so that they can approach the task in a new way is the heart of this chapter.
