ABSTRACT
Shamshad Begum (born April 14, 1919 ‒ died April 23, 2013) was born in Lahore. Her father was a mechanic. Her relatives still live on Mohni Road, Lahore, where once the great Urdu short-story writer Krishan Chander lived. She started her career as a singer at Lahore Radio.
