ABSTRACT

Vocational school is one of the main places offering instruction in vocational education. The characteristics of the school and the input and use of resources will have a direct impact on the validity of learning. With the use of the PISA school questionnaire, this chapter provides us with an evidence-based description and international comparison of the vocational schools sampled by ten selected countries (regions) in PISA 2009 and PISA 2018, including four provinces (Beijing-Shanghai-Jiangsu-Zhejiang) in China, focusing on the school background variables (location, school competitiveness, school ownership, etc.) and the input of school resources (input indicators such as manpower, material resources, management, etc.).
