ABSTRACT

RECSID's findings, semi-structured expert interviews, case studies, and basic content analysis allow the formulation of more precise conclusions on Russia's foreign energy policy and energy conflicts in alignment with the initial hypothesis of the book based on the main argument of the research. Even though gas revenues are less than the oil incomes of oil-gas exporting countries; therefore, the people can argue that natural gas is less prone to conflicts. The high intensity of Russia's energy conflicts and supply disruption cases with neighboring post-Soviet countries coincide with the ultimate aim of the Russian grand strategy to be the dominant power in the post-Soviet region without any serious competitor. Especially the western and southern bordering countries had a higher level of conflictual nature in the energy affairs in alignment with the goal of the grand strategy of Russia on domination in the "Greater Eurasia" region.
