ABSTRACT
Writers are guided through a variety of strategies for developing the idea for their personal narrative, such as experimenting with form and perspective. Each strategy is modeled and can be adapted for writers in elementary school. “My Writing World,” an instructional tool in the Writing Studio, is available for writers to use. The section concludes with prompts for readers to connect what they are learning as a writer with what they are learning about becoming a teacher of writing.
