ABSTRACT

The geographical location, topographical features, climatic characteristics, and natural resources will have a certain impact on the production and lifestyle of a certain ethnic group, determining the growth of crops in that area, as well as restricting people’s food, clothing, shelter, and transportation. This principle also applies to the Xishuangbanna Dai people. In their long-term development, the Dai people, relying on their unique geographical and cultural system, have formed a set of production and living styles that are compatible with them and are reflected in all aspects of their clothing, food, shelter, and transportation.
