ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the author elaborates on the matter of clinical formation and how this formation is carried by desire. Clinical encounters seem essential in the formation of the analyst, but given the specific sequence of this formation, a desire needs to be present to be able to move beyond the subjective division provoked by clinical work. This chapter delves further into the matter of case formulation and theoretical elaborations and discusses the link between one’s analysis, supervision and clinical practice.
