ABSTRACT

In this interview, Evi Verbeke discusses two cases which shaped her clinical practice. The first case discusses the work with mental disabilities, the difficulties of working together with an institution and the importance of signifiers and the object a in clinical work. The second case explores the work in a psychiatric ward and again the difficulties this entails. This interview stresses the tension one can experience between theory and clinical practice and how a transference on psychoanalytic theory doesn’t guarantee a transference on psychoanalytic practice.
