ABSTRACT

In this interview, Patricia Gherovici introduces the idea of the Dora effect, the clinical encounters that shape us and form us. Next, she discusses two cases which had an important impact on her. The first case deals with working in the barrio clinic and how to work with trauma. She illustrates the importance of the preliminary work and makes clear how to use Lacanian psychoanalysis to work with trauma. The second case delves into the matter of gender identity, working with trans-persons and how the shift in cultural discourse makes new questions appear in our clinical practice.
