ABSTRACT

The focus of this chapter is the SoccerBot360, which is already used as a standard in football for practice by some clubs. It can transfer the positions and movements of athletes into a 360-degree simulation to thereby train or allow players to improve in a realistic environment, to analyze players or subjects in regard to cognitive abilities, for example, game intelligence and creativity, and to make the respective performances measurable. Such technological advances, like the SoccerBot360, should be used in the future by sport scientists from different disciplines (e.g., sports psychology) to improve the acceptance of such diagnostic tools and to demonstrate the added value of new findings.
