ABSTRACT

This chapter explains the hope that this book serves as a defence of the desirability of globalising the Anglo-American philosophy of religion and philosophical theology. It is hoped that the reader has come to appreciate the benefits of incorporating insights from a non-Western philosophical tradition simply by reading this book. This is so even if they have serious doubts about the Relational Theory of the Atonement. This book constitutes one small step towards globalising discussions of the Atonement, and in turn in globalising philosophical theology, philosophy of religion, and philosophy in general. It will be interesting to see what scholars think of the theory, in addition to witnessing their own efforts to globalise the field.
