ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces the methodology of this book. The research presented in this book applied an explanatory mixed method research design. This chapter explains both the quantitative and qualitative phases, including research instrument and scale modification, validity and reliability and interview design. The questionnaire used in this book consists of three sections: background information, factors influencing parental engagement and parental engagement practices. This chapter will explain how these three sections were composed or how the scales were modified. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) is used to test the validity and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) is used to test reliability of the instrument. This chapter also describes the samples and participant information.
