ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses various approaches, resources, and requirements to organise on a personal and professional level, get started, and complete key tasks. It emphasises the importance of owning the process and taking responsibility to anticipate what’s next, embed critical and consequential thinking behaviours to become a PhD, and finish. It asks the reader to consider what resources are necessary to work to a high standard and deliver a superb body of work worthy of a PhD? The chapter concludes by summarising key concepts and also offers practical advice from doctoral candidates before leading into the next chapter on Planning and Project Management.
