ABSTRACT

This section expands on the scalable part-time framework that was introduced in Chapter 3. It aims to help doctoral candidates develop a practical work plan, get organised, complete tasks, and recognise where they are in the doctoral process. A PhD is a complex, non-linear, long-term project with a beginning, a middle, and an end. The strategies presented in this chapter will help users prioritise, anticipate, and determine the next steps and take responsibility for the programme. It closes with a summary of concepts, exercises, and practical advice before moving on to the discussion on Research and Critical Thinking in Chapter 5.
