ABSTRACT

The aim of this chapter is to reflect on the question of the value of music in light of the changes that have occurred in the industry from its inception until the present moment. What the development of the artificial intelligence (AI) will change in this matter?

The analysis reveals a decline in the value of recorded music due to digital technologies and streaming. This raises questions about consumer perception and willingness to pay. Economic and cultural dimensions contribute to the value of music, but the economic value is often challenged.

AI not only offers opportunities for music creation and personalised experiences but also poses challenges to copyright. Overall, the industry faces a paradigm shift in the value of recorded music, with potential for empowerment and redefining the music experience.
