ABSTRACT

As a reader within an organisation, consider how the readers reading speed and degree of comprehension are affected by the following elements One of the few studies about the reading strategies of corporate readers is striking. To cope with their reading workload and save time, they develop reading strategies. Effective readers change their reading strategies, depending on the type of document, its importance, and the reading time available. The authors now know that readers understand what they read by using communication maxims, inferences, constructs, and mental templates. Personal constructs that readers bring to the reading task will differ from reader to reader. These mental templates are developed not only from the general context of our activities and communication, but also from our beliefs, opinions, attitudes, and ideologies. It is thought that readers with mental templates have more developed expectations about what they will read.
