ABSTRACT

Frank Coaldrake was suddenly recalled to Australia to become Chairman of the Australian Board of Missions, the organisation which had sent him to Japan in the first place. Father Coaldrake dedicated his whole life to God, and worked actively as a servant of God, always lead by the far-reaching vision and always walking at the head of us. At the age of 58 he was elected Archbishop of Brisbane, which is his hometown, and Metropolitan of Queensland, which is a very vast area. And twelve days afterward, on July 22nd, he was called back by God and passed away to his heavenly home. After Frank Coaldrake's death in 1970, Maida Coaldrake continued volunteer work for the church in missionary training as Lecturer in Pacific History at the A.B.M.’s House of the Epiphany for a number of years, at the same time bringing up a family of three children.
