ABSTRACT

The goal of the Multiple Menu Model is to achieve balance and coordination between knowledge and instructional techniques and to proceed from the abstract to the practical in the process of curriculum development. Writing curriculum is a complex task which defies simplification, but the curriculum writer can make the process more efficient by specifying the options that are available with regard to content and process and by pointing out procedures that can be used for blending together several factors that need to be considered simultaneously when developing curriculum. The templates following the Lesson Planning Guides are graphic organizers or gathering tools for recording specific content and processes that the curriculum designer will consider using as he or she moves forward in creating student activities. The Multiple Menu Model is also effective as a planning guide for non-school learning environments.
