ABSTRACT

There is a big difference in emotional content in statistical analysis compared to discussions about beliefs. The assignment involves application of methods of collecting data, which is probably familiar to students, to a new situation. The emphasis is on the synthesis of a survey to complete a goal which is difficult by this method. It also involves a great deal of analysis. Gifted students often have an ability to work with abstract concepts, such as beliefs, which is beyond their age peers. They are also known to have a more developed interest in such concepts. It is often reported that gifted children have a higher sense of morality and sensitivity to the feelings of others. They are also often very interested in emotional issues. Gifted children approach tasks in original and imaginative ways. Although this assignment has a fairly obvious route, it's designed so it can be adapted to allow such variation.
