ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the book's methodological approach. It begins by mapping out the book's research design, before describing a justification for the study's two case studies, located in Cardiff, Wales and Gateshead in North East England. It describes its approach to creative workshops in the two cities, before moving on to discuss ethics and positionality, including reflexivity, before finishing with an exploration of definitions employed including ‘refugee’ and ‘asylum seeker’ in this context.
