ABSTRACT

Canada inevitably has close economic ties with its neighbour, the USA. Its main language is English, but there is a sizeable minority which speaks French as its mother tongue. French-speaking Quebec feels itself to be so different that it has even threatened to separate from the rest of Canada. Data on over 1500 Canadian public and private companies compiled by Canada’s leading financial newspaper, The Globe and Mail include all current and former Toronto Stock Exchange 300 companies. Infoglobe and Infomart are sources of online information on Canada, as are some of the big US hosts. There are also CD-ROMs such as Canadian Business and Current Affairs and The Canadian News Disc, as well as Disclosure’s Compact D/Canada for corporate records.
