ABSTRACT

Information on Central and Southern America is quite hard to come by, which is unfortunate as some of these countries have substantial numbers of millionaires. The regions stock markets are generally much less developed than in North America, Europe or the Far East. Mexico, being close to the US, has one of the largest stock markets in the area and some of the best corporate information. Information on private companies is particularly difficult to obtain, though Argentina makes an attempt to collect it. Changes in government and the level of inflation can be dramatic. Most of the region is primarily Spanish-speaking, though a notable exception is Brazil whose main language is Portuguese. Biographies of more than 2000 prominent individuals in 35 countries, including the Caribbean covers most spheres, including government, politics, banking and industry.
