ABSTRACT
The Interest-A-Lyzer “Family of Instruments” is based on a strategy for helping students examine their present and potential interests. These instruments are questionnaires that are designed to assist students in exploring their individual areas of interest. The items on the Interest-A-Lyzers consist of a variety of real and hypothetical situations to which students are asked to respond in terms of the choices they would make if they were involved in similar situations. Each instrument can be used in group situations or with individual students. Based on the premise that artistic talent is not age-specific, the Primary Art Interest-A-Lyzer offers young students a medium for exploring present and potential interest in a variety of artistic mediums. The interest areas are similar to those on the Art Interest-A-Lyzer, but they are geared towards a younger audience.
