ABSTRACT
Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is a visualization tool oriented to the Toyota version of Lean Manufacturing (Toyota Production System). It helps people to understand and streamline work processes and then apply certain specific tools and techniques of the Toyota Production System. This chapter shows how to do it. Chapter 5 addresses the more important issue of what to do with it.
