ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the evolving ideas and practices of creative and philosophical thinking, and gives readers some detail about why it is important, how to get going, and suggests some ideas on how one might want to develop it further. The chapter encourages teachers to create their own rationale for why they want to develop creative and philosophical thinking in their classrooms, and refine, revise and create their own theories and practices. It is hoped this will embolden them and stimulate their imaginations to go beyond the pages of this book into their classrooms and lives, to research their own practice, create their own living educational theory and share their ideas with others so they can all progress. So whatever reluctance there is on their part to contribute to the group, and for whatever reason, it must be overcome, for their sake and for the ideas’ sake.
