ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on criminal damage and the consequences of such behaviours. The facilitator reads through an article entitled ‘Caught in the Act, Graffiti Gang Hits Again’ before asking the young people to focus upon a series of key questions. The chapter discusses the development of problem-solving skills utilising a structured solution focused format. The young people are presented with a series of key questions which focus on the article itself and also aim to develop consequential thinking, victim awareness and awareness of restorative work. The young people are also asked to finally consider what could be done to make amends to the victim, that is, what sort of restorative work should take place now.
