ABSTRACT

The staff training component of the programme is designed for both the identified facilitators of the course and other staff who may be interested in developing an alternative approach to tackling anti-social behaviours within school, for example, pastoral support teams. The training provides a background to the programme, including the aims of the programme. It also explores the reasons for young people engaging in criminal behaviours and highlights the support that young people can be offered to prevent them from engaging in criminal activities. A debriefing session is included and the session should be delivered at the end of a working day to allow for some recovery space. For the facilitator of the training session, notes are provided for each slide presented, which can be read as is, or can be amended to meet the needs of the staff present.
