ABSTRACT
Once the picture card has been removed from the bag the facilitator or pupil shows it to the rest of the group and then gives a brief description of their picture card. The picture card should then be place on the floor in front of the pupil. Pupils remain seated in a circle and are next reintroduced to the three characters in the story, Ella, Amir and their teacher Miss Summers. As each character is named the facilitator should show the pupils the accompanying picture. At this point it is necessary to explain to the pupils that, like the last session, they are going to listen to a story about Ella, Amir and their teacher Miss Summers. They need to listen carefully to what the children and the teacher do and say because after the story has finished they will be talking about what happens to Ella, Amir and Miss Summers and answering questions about the story.
