ABSTRACT

It is desirable for the facilitator to have spent some time with the pupils participating in this group in order to ensure a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. If this has not been possible the facilitator will need to spend a few minutes getting to know the pupils. This is also an ideal opportunity to allow the pupils to introduce themselves to each other if they do not know each other already. All of the warm-up activities throughout this programme are ‘Bag Games’. This involves placing a number of picture cards inside an opaque bag. The bag is best made from a soft material with a drawstring at the top, restricting the pupils’ ability to see the contents of the bag. The string can be loosened to allow only one pupil’s hand through at any given time. The game works on a similar principle to the party game ‘Pass the Parcel’.
