ABSTRACT

The game works on a similar principle to the party game ‘Pass the Parcel’. Pupils sit in a circle and the bag is passed from pupil to pupil whilst music plays. Once the music stops the pupil or facilitator who is holding the bag places their hand into the bag and removes one picture card without looking. The facilitator needs to model good turn-taking by taking a random turn alongside the pupils. However if the pupils still struggle to appropriately participate in this game, it could be necessary for the facilitator to take their turn first to model the process to the pupils again. Once the picture card has been removed from the bag the facilitator or pupil shows it to the rest of the group and then gives a brief description of their picture card. The picture card should then be place on the floor in front of the pupil.
