ABSTRACT

The previous chapter illustrated that the Chinese public diplomacy narratives of the BRI are extremely mutable, constantly evolving, and ambiguously defined, with new elements added to the narrative as the BRI evolves. It underscored that, initially, the Chinese Government did not explain the BRI well, which offers space for Australian mainstream media to develop their own narratives, thus paving the way for this chapter to explore how the Australian mainstream media view the BRI.
