ABSTRACT

This chapter describes creating opportunities for students to share the findings of their grammar inquiries and setting them up for success as they do so. It is designed to help readers construct ways for students to share the results of their inquiries and guide them as they communicate to students what they will need to do to successfully share that information. The first section of this chapter identifies and discusses key components of creating opportunities for students to give presentations that share their grammar inquiry findings. After that, the chapter addresses why creating these opportunities is so important to students’ grammar inquiry experiences, highlighting ways that sharing grammar inquiry results centers students in their learning experiences and helps make the work culturally relevant and sustaining. Then, the chapter shares examples of how the author worked with seventh- and tenth-grade English classes to create meaningful and well-organized opportunities for them to share their inquiry findings. Next, it shares key recommendations for readers to consider as they create opportunities for students to share the findings of their grammar inquiries. It concludes with key closing points and an infographic for readers to use as they implement the ideas discussed in this chapter.
