ABSTRACT

The concluding chapter briefly restates the research problem and summarises the main findings and implications of the study, sketching a mutual interface between FC/FGC and Islamic veiling. Further, this chapter develops an alternative theoretical understanding of international politics by bringing women’s lives and agency to the fore. While the concept of structure in International Relations is caged at the systemic level, structure in this study is at myriad levels and is perniciously present. On a whole, it locates its ontological reference point in women’s “relational existentiality”, taking into account the agency of her “being” as well as the external gazes.
