ABSTRACT

Juvenile delinquency has become a global phenomenon in the present era. This chapter discusses the age of criminal responsibility prevalent in different jurisdictions. The age of criminal responsibility for a child has been a debatable issue for a long time. Further, this chapter studies key provisions of several legislations for juveniles existing in various major countries like the United States of America, United Kingdom, China and so on. Procedure for the apprehension and production of juveniles before the competent authority has also been discussed in this chapter.
