ABSTRACT

The definition of Leading with Humility puts a leader's role in the organization and the outcomes we seek to achieve culturally at the forefront. When leaders are willing to trust others and focus on their own weaknesses, culture transparency and continuous learning can be established. Humble leaders also tend to be more connected to their people. This deep connection shows itself in a variety of ways. The Shingo Institute defines three categories of behavioral benchmarks to help guide us in understanding the principle Lead with Humility. The behavioral benchmarks also help us in our work to translate the principle into specific and measurable behaviors. The site formally began its Lean journey with the introduction of its operational excellence model in 2013. To develop its leaders and build stronger employee engagement within the culture, Abbott One China launched the Mindful Leader development program.
