ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the first of this latter section of the book, we pivot toward discussions of coordination among numerical (computational and statistical) and visual approaches to examining evidence across all stages of The OUtCoMES Cycle. We emphasize that while specific analytical tactics are ideal fits to specific analytical tasks, these tactics do not exist in isolation in large projects. Outputs from one approach provide inputs to others. Parallel approaches, including well-developed visual renderings for inspection of assumptions and results, should also be applied in the avoidance of critical errors in interpretation. Implications regarding the distribution of specific skillsets across a project team are also discussed.
