ABSTRACT

This chapter illustrates three major types of cyber literary criticism, respectively, written by ordinary netizens, media workers, and scholars. Netizens post on the Internet their critical responses to literary works. Such responses can take various forms, including “short replies and clicks,” “dialogues and posts,” “appreciative and critical reviews,” and “spam posts.” Media workers, including journalists, editors, writers, and other cultural celebrities, publish their writings both in the paper media and on the Internet to discuss cyber literature. Scholars also publish academic articles and books to discuss cyber literature. They include those who “pioneered” in this field of research in the early years of cyber literature and a larger group of scholars who followed the steps of the “pioneers” into this field. This chapter then discusses their academic achievements, respectively.
