ABSTRACT

In this timeframe, the author is rendering progress! She advances to 30 minutes of uninterrupted work, attempting to focus, concentrate and catch herself if she wanders. She is discovering strategies to pull herself back into awareness if she can capture that she is off somewhere in her fog. In this second year post-TBI, she meets her second speech-language-cognitive pathologist at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston. She tries to present herself with her scrambled brain. Rick takes the time to encourage her to speak, and he listens. Rick becomes her life coach, her mentor! With Rick, she finds a footpath after all her dead-ends and lost trailways. Her weekly routine revolves around her rehabilitation treatment in speech, physical, occupational and psychotherapy.
