ABSTRACT

This time period is about post-traumatic growth for the author. Valuing her life and developing wisdom leads to hope and an acceptance of where she is today. She is goal-directed and uses assistive strategies independently, but she is unable to multitask. A second medication for cognition to augment the first one helps immensely. Her memory is stronger, with better focus and concentration for longer periods of time. Attention and retention increase. She can hold several thoughts and manipulate them. She is praised by her medical team for tenacity and perseverance to continue to push for progress, even with many daily struggles. Dr. T. tells her she is a success story and role model. Still working in AT and PT. ST with Rick focuses on writing and thinking skills, cognitive strategies and aspects of writing her dissertation. A few social actions are taken and she continues on the speaker panel.
