ABSTRACT

Most people grow up with the message that reproduction or procreation is the reason people have sex. Sex is about making babies. Almost all the sexuality education available until now are focused on the biological aspects of sex and risk minimisation. Pleasure-absent sexuality education reinforces sexual pleasure inequalities in two ways. Firstly, by solely focusing on preventing STIs and pregnancy without mentioning pleasure. Secondly, pleasureless sex education neglects to teach individuals how to communicate their desires. A pleasure approach focuses on pleasure as a valid and legitimate reason to have sex and that sexuality should not be about fear, shame or stigma, but about happiness, satisfaction and fulfilment. Promotes pleasure as a key ingredient for people to practice safer sax and be protected.
