ABSTRACT

Zelda returns from her sabbatical renewed and plunges into Arena Stage’s 30th anniversary season, as the theater begins a prolonged period of artistic success with Douglas C. Wager as associate producing director and James C. Nicola as associate producer. Zelda mentors them and several other younger directors who are starting their own theaters, while also developing the talented younger members of her acting company. She directs a memorable production of Chekhov’s Three Sisters which is the apex of her work as a director to this point. Her close colleague director Alan Schneider is killed in a traffic accident in London. Narrators include Douglas C. Wager, James C. Nicola, Randy Danson, Charles Janasz, and Henry Stram.
