ABSTRACT

In a surprise move, Zelda takes over as Head of Graduate Acting at New York University (while still running Arena), because of her desire to guide the training of young actors who can be versatile members of companies at Arena Stage and other non-profit theaters. She gets rid of the practice of cutting a predetermined number of actors from the program during their training and transforms the culture of this program (which had been dysfunctional and low profile up until her arrival), turning it into a highly regarded place from which extraordinarily gifted actors emerge. Narrators include Ron van Lieu, Frank Wood, Marcia Gay Harden, and Rainn Wilson.
