ABSTRACT

This chapter analyzes the ideological dimension of the two main movements of the so-called second neo-fascist generation following the dissolution of Avanguardia Nazionale (AN) and Ordine Nuovo (ON). The main movements of this second generation that originated around the year 1977 are Terza Posizione (TP) and the Nuclei Armati Rivoluzionari (NAR). The two movements are often confused, as the NAR exerted a strong attraction on TP militants who abandoned their movement to join the NAR. The two groups are different in every respect, from the ideological to the organizational. While TP is in continuity with the movements of the previous generation, the NAR break with the history of the Italian extreme right both for ideology and for anti-hierarchical organization. The NAR, whose ideological profile has so far been little studied, must be related to the ideological current of anarcho-fascism.
