ABSTRACT

In the late 1990s, China decided to expand college enrolment on a large scale to meet the needs of socialist economic construction in the new era. China has not only completed the rapid transition from elite and mass higher education to universal higher education, as theorised by Martin Trow, but also become the country with the largest scale of higher education in the world. The rapid expansion of higher education has cultivated a large number of talented individuals with higher education qualifications, which has helped to meet the urgent demand for talent in the labour market and has significantly improved Chinese people's overall educational level. The employment of college graduates is a core issue for society. The migration and mobility of labour is an important research area in economics, demography and sociology. Based on an analysis of labour migration and college students' migration, it is not difficult to find some unique features of college students' migration.
