ABSTRACT
Chapter 9 engages the dimension of didactical exemplarity, that is, the function of examples in education. Here, I follow the work of Martin Wagenschein and his idea of the exemplary way. This brings us full circle to the metaphor of pearl diving as well as the idea that the primary principle of education does not concern where we are going, but how to begin.
