ABSTRACT
This chapter articulates the practical steps to turn the strategic plans into operational implementation for Slovakia’s DT journey. The monitoring and evaluation plan outlines systematic procedures to track and monitor progress, as well as to quantify impacts of the National Digital Twin (NDT) implementation strategy in Slovakia. As the data layers become more comprehensive over time, the NDT should aim to expand upon the initial PoCs and endeavour to comprehensively capture all the data pillars. The Smart City Audit Matrix developed by Pomeroy Studio and Academy was adopted as the evaluation indicators to assess the changes brought forth by the NDT in the context of the smart city movement and its digital transformation in Slovakia. The key indicators within these smart city indices invariably covered a diverse range of sustainability, smart technology, and governance-related assessment criteria that were then weighted and aggregated together, along with their sub-indicators that would cover more detailed considerations.
