ABSTRACT

Knowledge sharing may take many forms consisting of, but not limited to, presentations, trainings, published articles, innovative best practices, succession planning, coaching, mentoring and the like. Thus, the transferred knowledge will allow other leaders to perform better and add value to their customers. Leaders should focus most of their time on activities that will solve problems, help others perform better, plan for the future and add value to stakeholders. Average risk foci would be the next commitment while high-risk time commitments should be avoided. The leader was a phenomenal operational leader, but struggled in the new strategic role. For several years, the leader had spent hours daily in the weeds of the business's operating canvas. The weeds consisted of meetings, e-mails, fruitless conversations and the like. Effective leaders are those that spend time wisely via solving problems, helping others succeed, sharing knowledge, learning and planning for the future.
