ABSTRACT

Mobile phone addiction and cyber-bullying are just two phenomena that require pedagogical self-assurance and thus a renewal of the Socratic Oath because digitalisation for digitalisation’s sake and thus without a pedagogical impetus runs the risk of becoming inhumane at schools but also in society as a whole. The dissolution of human boundaries through digitalisation therefore calls in a special way for a reflection on the pedagogical leitmotif of humanism. Education requires both theoretical and empirical approaches. This leads to the emergence of a humanism as a guiding idea that has to prove itself in reality. This demand has to be met for a professional oath in particular.
