ABSTRACT

The opening chapter sets out the general framework of the problem of child marriage, its importance and the underlying causes of the problem. Following this, the chapter provides comprehensive data on the prevalence and status of child marriage in various regions, including Türkiye, and provides a historical perspective to clearly establish the scope of the problem. It emphasizes the significance of the issue and underlies its relevance and impact on society. In the subsequent section, this introductory chapter elucidates the focal focus and outlines the methodological approach of the phenomenological research. Additionally, a brief overview of the subsequent chapters is provided to offer a roadmap for the reader, ensuring a clear understanding of the forthcoming analysis.
